Baroque style with a sense of drama and love of the ornate

I love the vintage linen fabric I found recently which have used to make a couple of handbags. I would describe the fabric as Baroque style. Did you know the exuberant Baroque style originated in Italy and influenced all of Europe. Dutch and French craftspeople who settled in England also had a great influence on the development of this style.  A profusion of plant life characterises the Baroque style. Scrolling foliage and garlands of flowers decorate many objects with a sense of drama and a love of the ornate. What do you think, is it your style?

Floral bags for sunny days

It's a beautiful spring day today, the sun is shining, the golden daffodils are bursting into life and I have even given the grass it's first cut of 2019. I love this time of year, thinking ahead to all the colour that is to come in the garden. It makes me think of beautiful floral vintage fabrics, chintz springs to mind.
